Speculation anon here with a very soft AU that I've been noodling about for over a week. Viserys passes while Alicent is pregnant with Daeron and since Lionel is Hand Rhaenyra is successfully coronated Queen before the masses. Her first major decision is to effectively adopt Alicent's children as her own on Lionel's advice. Alicent's loyalty is bought with the safety of her children. Daeron has never met Viserys and Aemond doesn't remember him, being barely a year old when he passed. They all grow up together with two mothers essentially and Laenor as a loving father. Of course Rhaenyra still has her boys with Harwin but people are less willing to question it.
Aegon gets the mothering he needs to not be a complete monster but is deviously cunning and Lionel decides to train him to be a potential Hand. Aemond becomes Laenor's squire and is raised to one day follow Luce to Driftmark as his sworn sword. Helaena is of course betrothed to Jace as the only daughter but Rhaenyra is endlessly doting on her. Daeron never gets sent to Oldtown and him and Jace basically share a brain cell. - 🌌

Where there are wolves, there are ravens. Ravens follow wolves around a lot, mostly because they just seem to like them. They aren’t known to follow other predators and they prefer to eat with the wolves instead of alone. Source
ravens get easy food out of the relationship, and wolves get protection; the ravens fly above and alert the wolves to danger. ravens and wolves are also known to play with each other, esp. chasing games. they are both intelligent and playful animals who genuinely enjoy each other’s company. they also understand many of the other’s vocalizations.
